SOUND REDUCTION
Sound attenuators are used in ventilation systems to reduce noise generated by rotating equipment / fans. Sound attenuators can also be used to reduce noise from generators and other noise generating equipment.
Sound attenuators are available in either circular or rectangular models.
Circular models can be supplied with spigot entry / discharge for slip on connection to circular ducting. Units are also available with flanged connection for bolted installation to bigger HVAC ducting. The circular model lengths are generally specified as 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0D (Diameter) long. Depending on the noise reduction index required models are supplied with or without aerodynamic centre pods.
Rectangular units are available with variable splitter gaps and splitter widths and unit lengths. These are specially configured by the manufacturer to derive at the desired noise reduction index required to reduce system noise levels to an acceptable level for the specific application.

The silencers are filled with carefully selected acoustic material to offer the best possible sound reduction. All silencers are available as standard non-pod type or fitted with aerodynamic domed pods. Silencers lengths classified as 1.0, 1.5 or 2D. Special internal linings or external casing material grades are available on request.

Cross Talk
Cross talk silencers offer exceptional frequency reduction with a low pressure drop across the unit. Units are used as air leakage passages through building acoustic insulation. Units are ideal for studio’s and noise sensitive applications. All cross talk silencers are manufactured from pre-galvanised material with carefully selected acoustic infill.
