Roof mounted fans are available in mainly two categories, these are either vertical or horizontal discharge roof exhaust fans. Both of these main models can be configured with axial, centrifugal or mixed flow impellers. The variation in impeller configurations make the roof units suitable for a very wide scope of exhaust applications.
These fans are used for the ventilations of offices, factories, hospitals, shopping malls. The most popular application would be for the extraction of fowl air from Kitchen canopies in restaurants and takeaway kitchens.
Bolt on roof exhaust accessories are available to be fitted to axial flow fans to convert the fan from a duct mounted to a roof exhaust or roof intake fan.
Certain models of roof units can be configured for either exhaust / extraction or for supply air / intake purposes. Depending on the application units can be configured for the exhaust and supply of air into and from a system.

Specially design louvre type roof cowls can be used for exhaust or intake applications. The units are designed to be installed on any axial flow fan or vertically discharging ducting. The unique design reduces the risk of water intake with the flapless design removing the headache associated with noisy vertical discharge unit flaps.
